Baseline Bundle

In the UK’s efforts to achieve Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050, local authorities are vital in developing local decarbonisation plans such as Local Area Energy Plans (LAEPs) that support sustainable communities. Energy Systems Catapult’s Baseline Bundle is designed to help overcome common challenges, such as limited cost, resources, time, and expertise, when creating or updating these comprehensive plans. Determining the current energy landscape in a region is difficult because data comes from varied sources and lacks standardisation for integration. This situation requires manual collection and processing of information, which can be both time-consuming and expensive. The Baseline Bundle simplifies this task by consolidating essential information from multiple open and commercial sources and integrating several of the Catapult’s own Net Zero Data datasets. The result is a clear, consistent package that supports informed decision making, decarbonisation project planning and reporting, and aligns with Local Area Energy Planning guidance.
